Net Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen experienced a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only participant to make it to the final table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest bettors around the world. While gambling on online poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. Gus often plays in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus frequently buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I know Gus is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is broke, he has little or no reason to play at the game with the min buy-in.

Playing for the min takes almost all of the ability out of deep stack poker. Gus is accepted to be one of the best players in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amt.. I think television can alter our perception of the real world at times. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world might just be guys you have never heard about. Gus can be seen playing online poker on Full Tilt. He normally plays in big stakes omaha hi-low and texas holdem. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in cash rounds?
