No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Howard Lederer?
Howard Lederer lived in a family of five where he enjoyed playing different card games at a young age. He found himself becoming really aggressive in these particular card games while competing against his dad. After finishing Sr. High school, Howard made a decision to put higher education on hold for a little while and headed to New York City to play some serious chess. While playing chess, he was introduced to a poker game going on in the rear of the room. Howard’s first two years were tough as he would play extensive hours and do not win a majority of the time. He made some additional money by becoming an runner for the poker enthusiasts. He judged he could improve his game by analyzing his life outside of poker. He brought about an attempt to acquire more rest and focus more on poker.
The real improvement in his game happened when he began wagering at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the best gamblers would frequently challenge one another. Howard had access into a few of the foremost players in chess. With their assistance, Howard would hone his strategic thinking abilities. Howard used these strategic concepts in the game of No-Limit holdem.
He also helped his sibling Annie Duke learn poker. Annie Duke was an excellent student of the game as she would always be asking questions about how to make the correct decision. He told Annie Duke to head out to Vegas and play in the WSOP tournaments. She is one of the best female players the poker arena has ever seen. He moved to Sin City in 1993 and played cash games for the next 10 years. When the WPT gained popularity, Howard decided to participate in more tournaments.
