No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker contender in the world by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching turning 1. His papa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to learn everything he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the adverse feedback from other people annihilate his dream of being one of the greatest poker players on the planet.
He started competing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved 2 final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he defeated many of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and a continuing love for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s learning every single day and is incredibly abashed about his success. Phil admits to making blunders every single session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
