NL Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker player in the world by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His grandfather taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to discover every little thing he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the adverse comments from others annihilate his dream of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.
He began competing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a learning experience and winning wasn’t a normal thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed a number of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to hard work and a continuing love for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly abashed about his success. He knows he makes blunders every single session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.
Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
